Three ways to settle in at The Orient

Move between the Public Bar, courtyard beer garden and upstairs Mrs Jones Terrace Bar and Dining.

Downstairs, the Public Bar and courtyard beer garden are built for an easy drink and a classic pub meal. Upstairs, Mrs Jones Terrace Bar and Dining gives the visit a polished edge, with cocktails and terrace energy above the laneways.

Guests often remember the mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, the live music and the convenience of being close to Circular Quay and Sydney Harbour.

History

A heritage pub in the heart of The Rocks

Our George Street building carries the character of one of Sydney's oldest pub stories.

The Orient Hotel began its story in the Rocks district in 1844. Today, the pub keeps that George Street character close: a place for a pint after exploring the harbour, a long lunch upstairs, or a casual catch-up in the courtyard.

The building's history gives every visit a sense of place without making the experience formal. We keep the rhythm of a working Sydney pub: good drinks, generous food, music, conversation and a warm welcome.
